What's up, everybody! In previous videos about competition firearms, some of you suggested using them as a home defense protection. In my opinion, I would not use a competition firearm for home defense and here's why...

I have no issues using a “competition” gun for home defense. Since it’s literally a competition for my life.

The firearm that you are most proficient with is the right one for home defense. Use the gun that gives you the best chance to live.

Dope commentary as I subscribe to a different philosophy when it comes to home light triggers, red dots, night sights, Comp pistols, ar pistols, CZ Scorpions...., whatever gives me the advantage to protect/defend my family and self... this is a full service household and if you come in here you will be satisfied with the prompt service that you came for.

Love your videos! There is another serious concern as to why I would NEVER use a competition gun for home defense. Any defensive shooting means the cops take all the “evidence” away! I’m not willing to lose my best gun to the cops that way! I will use a cheap Glock or whatever.

This is tough. I for one carry a Wilson Combat 1911 with a roughly 3.5-4 pound trigger. It’s also my bedside gun that I’ll grab as a holdover to get to a PCC. Bottom line, in my experience and based on what I’ve been trained to, it comes down to training. Shoot what you train with and what you’re most proficient with. As for the sight issue, anything that you’re using for home defense, especially something that you anticipate possibly needing in low light, should have a weapon mounted light on it. In any event, love your videos!

People should use what they're comfortable with

I have a shadow 2 as my bedside, it just gives me confidence that can handle a threat quickly and effectively. But you definitely made great points, I just can't see making a change anytime soon.

I love all of those CZs. I’m generally in agreement. I have a Sig 226 with a one pound twelve ounce trigger that I wouldn’t want to use with any adrenaline in my system, but I do have a P229 DASA with with 4 pound trigger and decocker I use, along with a Beretta 1301 12 gauge. Best Regards Liv

I chose a Sig P226 TACOPS, but I think it will soon be replaced with an HK45T suppressed... LOL! Also, holy CZ collection!!!! Love it!

One of my choices for my home defense set up is a Glock 34 9mm. It's very much used for competition but I chose if for home defense because of its accuracy and high velocity due to the barrel length. Whatever you decide to use, you better practice with it and use quality ammo. Pick the gun that works best for you.

Probably an after thought for someone like you who has so many gorgeous competition handguns… but they are pricey and should you ever need to use it in self defense Police will take it as evidence and it will be tied up for a long while until you can fight to get it back.

It's refreshing to watch a strong woman presenting good facts. I'm getting tired of tons of tons of videos featuring men with long (grey) beards.

I'm Norwegian, and as a gun owner only have guns for competition. Having been in a few bad situations (non firearms related) I know that adrenaline makes the world shift in unexpected ways and I agree that a competition trigger is way to sensitive to be used in self defence.

Please keep up the good work!

The sp-01 shadow is actually a CZ 75 sp-01 Shadow Target II. I have one and would love to see a video of just that gun. I can’t find any other videos on it in YouTube, please make one🙏🏼

Use what you train with. Whatever you are more comfortable with and confident with.
Remember we don't put our finger on the trigger till we are ready to shoot so finger on the trigger = boom
All my home defense guns are 1911s at the ready.
My dog (Jax) barks and out comes the 1911.
As for seeing, turn on the light. It's that simple, I'm not shooting what I can't see. My gun light illuminates the area.
I feel people over think these things. Don't do anything different than what you normally do.

Damn, but that XP01 Shadow is gorgeous!

I figure that my bone-stock CZ pistols shoot better than I do. In other words, the ability to put rounds into the ten ring is much more about me than about particulars about the gun.

"Train with what I have" means spending the (limited) money on ammunition, a dry-fire system like the Mantis X1, and the occasional lesson to be sure I'm not picking up bad habits instead of on competition pieces.
