Nice simple demo between the two and has piqued my curiosity.. Assuming the performance difference is small, or negligible, for small datasets, I'd be curious to know if, and how, performance diverges as larger datasets are created. And also wondering how much of a difference data types make. For example, hypothetically, R might be faster making large datasets with mostly text columns, where Python might be faster making datasets with mostly numerical columns. Just something to think. :)

IMHO, R is better here. Even the code is more compact.
