Good and nice summary. Thanks for sharing. Re "SAS has a GUI". Sure. But you will never cross the street with that. It will be about five minutes after installation until you realize that you need to learn the SAS programming language, i.e. DATA step and PROCs. Most everything you can do in SAS you can do in Python - for free. With 20+ years of experience in all 3 of these unless your organization already has SAS licensed, no need to get one :) starting out use Python, most jobs are in that.

I see R has an oddly low use in Marketing and Finance (wiz what I concern with) Industries.
Why so ? And why is SAS on par with Python and most importantly how can it be more prominent than R in those crucial departments.

I personally think R is easier to learn. A lot of things that you need to write loops for in python, you can accomplish with a simple line of code in R
