I just discovered the term retroactive jealousy today actually and am glad I found this video! My boyfriend is currently suffering from RJ bordering on OCD and we didn’t even know other people experienced it until now. I think this video is good for female partners of sufferers to watch because it’s an honest empathetic acknowledgement from a man that cultural sexual expectations of women are complicated and painful for women themselves. I feel a lot of shame and confusion about my sexual history, but my partner has difficulty empathizing with me in regards to why I acted the way I did when we weren’t together, so I found this cathartic.
