My ouch pouch has the "But did you die" key chain on the zipper.

I always carry one. Used it a few times. The first time I ever took a serious first aid course was in college. It was taught by a retired army MASH nurse. Not everything we learned was in the official Red Cross book. Let's put it that way.
In order to pass her CPR training, we had to run two laps around the drill field then come in and pass the test. " Because if you ever have to do it for real, you're probably going to be amped up and maybe tired. You're not going to be at your best and you need to know what that's like" was her explanation. She's right. If you ever have to do it, you're not at your best. That lesson definitely paid off

I'd recommend a stop the bleed course as well. It's a great basic course on identifying life-threatening hemorrhage and how to stop different types of bleeding wounds.

Ouch pouches and boo-boo kits are amazing. Many a day has gone from "this is really bad" to "this is a minor inconvenience" because of just a little prep.

if I can't stabilize it with scotch 33, it's above my pay grade. but I can fix a LOT with scotch 33.

The thing that helped me instantly subscribe to this channel is this man's honest and lack of filter when he delivers or makes content. I absolutely love it. Keep going brother.

Good fucking call, bro. I've been working on perfecting an EDC bag for my wheelchair. Smaller than most people's wheelchair bag (normally a book bag) I try and fit as much usefulness as I can into a compact form factor. It's been 5 years (today is actually my 5th crippiversary) of living on this thing and a small aid kit for some reason never came to mind. Thanks, homie. You just helped out a complete stranger, and that's pretty damn cool!

I've kept one around since combat medic school. Only used it a few times in about 15 years, but I've never regretted it

Deployed and got 2 IFAKs, Keep one in my car and a stripped down version in a pouch on my bike bag. Unfortunately had to strip out the high speed HemCon pads, and clotting powder which expired years ago, but still got all the relevant stuff for non-combat field injuries

I have this, a bigger bag and an oh no bag as a nurse. If you see me with my oh no bag please call 911 and tell them to hurry. But yes they are a must

I survived working downtown by having extra smokes and a first aid kit.. No one messes with the kid patching you up.

In Germany, it’s mandatory to participate in a first-aid course to get your drivers licence

First Aid and CPR classes are required for a high school diploma in my state. So around here they are essentially free.

This guy is like the teacher I wish I had. I feel very mentally engaged by his teaching approach

The American Red Cross has an online first aid course that keeps things entertaining. Of course, there's an in-perwon component as well.

We are mountain bikers in this house and have several patch kits. I knew I made it as a parent when I observed a damaged 9yo limp into the house, grab a patch kit, disappears into a bathroom... emerges patched up, returns the kit, goes out to get back riding our jumps.
