10 tips to visit the Colosseum, Rome 🇮🇹

🎟️ Get your tickets in advance. The tickets sold out months in advance.

👩‍💼Visit with a guide or get a ticket with audio guide. I recommend going with a
guide.

🎟️ Get familiar with the different types of tickets and choose the one that is most suitable for you. There are different types of tickets:
* Express visit to the Colosseum: guided visit to the Colosseum (doesn’t include the arena or underground);
* Standard Colosseum Ticket: includes a guided visit to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill (doesn’t include a visit to the arena or the underground of the Colosseum);
* Standard Ticket with access to the arena floor;
* Standard Ticket with access to the arena and underground;
* Any other combination of the previous options

🎟️ In my opinion, it’s worth getting the ticket that also includes Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. These attractions are right next to each other.

🎟️ Take a look at the Roma pass. If you’re visiting multiple attractions, it might be worth getting the Roma pass to save some money.

💨It’s windy and colder inside the colosseum. Take a jacket with you (probably except on summer).

👟Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll climb several stairs.

🤳Mind your belongings. The Colosseum is always crowded, and pickpockets take advantage of that (even inside the Colosseum as we were told by our guide).

☺️ Don’t forget to explore outside at night. It’s a different ambience with the lights on and with fewer crowds.

📸 If you want a great view with less people, go inside to the Roman Forum museum and search for the view to the Colosseum.
