My mom started telling me about periods when I was 8 because she knew it could happen soon. She wanted to tell me early because when she got hers, she didn't know what was going on. She'd never had a talk about it. We'd read a book called 'Bunk 9's Guide to Growing Up.' I got my period a few days after my twelfth birthday. I was so excited and glad that I had learned early on and 'Turning Red' just made me glad that they talked about it.

I remember when I got my first period a few years ago. Honestly, besides the cramps I was pretty chill about it cause my mom would talk about it all the time to me when I started puberty, even though she knew damn well I did not know what she was taking about 💀
