On October 12th, two worlds collided for the fans of Star Trek: The Original Series – Captain James T. Kirk, also known as William Shatner, was preparing to launch into Space on Wednesday.
First launched in 1966, the iconic American TV series Star Trek TOS told a fascinating story about space adventure. Its famous opening line, “Space: the final frontier,” would be heard in almost every US household on Thursday nights.
Under the YouTube pre-mission interview video released on Tuesday, viewers sent their best wishes to the beloved Captain Kirk and the New Shepard NS-18 launch. Shatner’s up-and-down Space hop will last just 10 minutes and reach no higher than about 66 miles.
