I was honored to play Yor in this. The work Otoy is doing mindblowing and I feel extremely fortunate to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the magic.

Kirk saying farewell to his friend for the second and final time is so touching. It also fits as proper goodbye for the actors as well since Mr. Shatner and Mr. Nimoy didn't have that opportunity in a real world. And yes, this is the real Star Trek we all are missing so dearly.

"Our Kirk". You got that right. 👍

[The in real life] Shatner being 93 is kinda mind blowing in of itself. Most 73 year olds aren't in his shape.

This one made me tear up… Wish the people involved in official Trek were this caring and protective of Trek and its legacy.

This 10 minute film is more Star Trek than the crap that we have been getting for the last 20 years. Thank you OTOY, for making it right!

I watched this yesterday (Nov 18 2024) and cried. I didn't realize how much I needed this.

It brought tears to my eyes. Seeing Robin reprise her role was something I wasn't expecting to see. What ultimately got me was when Kirk was reunited with Spock. That one scene was more impactful than anything Abrams and Secret Hideout has ever made. You could tell Spock was elated to see his old friend alive and well once again, and you can tell Kirk was happy to see Spock, deathbed or no deathbed. As far as I'm concerned, Spock died peacefully not long after, with Kirk by his side.

This is how you do Star Trek homages right.

This is the type of content that you get when fans create. Discovery is what you get when corporations create.

I met William Shatner over 30 years ago at the Del Mar Fairgrounds here in San Diego as a 13 year old. A family friend was showing my parents' Morgan horse Caroline and he was there with his horses for some other events. I chased him down and told him how much I loved Captain Kirk and he signed an autograph for me. I didn't want to bother him more than that, and thanked him profusely then gave him his peace. He didn't have to acknowledge me, let alone give me an autograph, but he did it. I'll never forget it as long as I live. He will ALWAYS be my favorite character in all of Star Trek.

For someone who's "speechless" you sure did manage to talk for 19 minutes lol

As a 42-year-old grown man who has watched all the old Star Trek series (and still does), I cried. Kirk risked everything in Star Trek III to bring Spock back. He even lost David in the process. Spock meant so much more to him. Spock, being half-human, would have felt immense grief over Jim's death. And then, in the end, they reunited to explore the greatest unknown together. That was more than I ever hoped for. After the end of Picard and the "last mission" of the TNG crew, this had an even bigger emotional impact on me. Otoy achieved the impossible. This felt like the ending to their journey that they truly deserved.

Kirk is back? He never went away. The one and only Kirk - the Shat!

“Trapped in the Kelvin Timeline” it would be a fate worse than death, if it were not possible to be trapped in Star Trek Discovery.

Kirk is back, tell a friend.

Got me in those damned human emotions. Felt more in 8 minutes than in the last 15 years of Trek (Picard 3 aside).
Incredible work

I won't lie, I had tears when spock meet kirk at the end and It's really hard for me to be emotional over a media.

It's amazing. I took it as Kirk passed on (after Generations) and was there for Spocks passing.

This gives me actual hope for the franchise I used to love.
