The most achievable possibility right now is to extend our lives through gene therapy. Its the most attainable at the moment (we are so close), but still doesn't help with the wear and tear our body has attained, only fixes gene errors that occur from being copied over and over during our life time through cell replacement.

Many in this era mock believing in the God of Israel which is fine we all have free will, as a human being seeing the fracture civilization we live in I'm glad we all have an expectation date. I hope all of us who kneel to a superior creator influence many to continue to pass on those teaching.

To be honest. Living forever would be a terrible thing. Death isnt a bad thing. its a necessary part of life. I see no good reason for anyone to want to live forever. Forget ethics. It would be a terrible personal experience as well. Not to mention the earth itself eventually die a heat death inability to die from aging isnt the same as a cosmic inevitable extinction event. but even from the standpoint of day to day people only truly greedy people would want that to continue to hold reigns of power. That itself would yield no benefit. Society would crumble. Morality would fall out of the window. if you can live forever nothing matters. Why have children? Why not murder anyone who displeases you on a whim? Why not steal from everyone? theres no real consequences right? 100 years is enough. the only sad thing about death is dying in a way that wouldn't suit a person and before theyve achieved their goals in life. Once I have achieved what i desire to do. Ill happily go into that goodnight. I wouldn't want to live past 100 years old at most. Peacefully with my loved ones or out in a blaze of glory doing something meaningful would be ideal.

No thank you I rather live whatever time I have left in this dying world. "Mortality gives meaning to human life" I'm ok with maybe living for 80-90 years old. Not only as a religious person but a person with common sense know our bodies have limitations to how long we live despite scientists advancing there studies. And top of that, why would you want to live forever in a dying world full of food insecurity and overpopulation to begin with? Thats my answer: "enjoy whatever time you have left"

Living forever and immortality aren't the same thing. You could be mortal and possess everlasting life, but you could still die. Immortality means you cannot die. Humans might be able to live indefinitely but they'd still technically be mortal. And yes, every time somebody brings this up you'll hear the common response: "Living forever would be terrible! You'd get bored. Blah, blah, blah." That's BS. I bet not one of the naysayers have set their expiration date yet.

"Oh living too long would be terrible?"
"Have you decided on termination date yet?"
"Nah. Maybe a few more centuries."

People only want to die when life is stupid. If humans got their sh** together I could imagine a world I'd never want to die in.

If there are people who want to die a natural death, let them.
However, I do not subscribe to words like "living forever would be terrible" simply because that's the cookie cutter response the average person gives when asked about living forever. After all, what do these people know about immortality? That it's bad cause a book or movie told them so?

If you are offering immortality, I would gladly accept, however I would ask if you can give me a side of invincibility cause I'm not interested in suffering endlessly when I get critically injured and not die from it.
