That’s a true sign of respect when they all stood. God bless his soul.

I was on an airline coming home and had a fallen soldier on our flight. We did not know we had one. The captain of the airline announced about 15 minutes before we landed we had a fallen soldier coming home and for us to remain seated while they took him off the plane. Not one word was spoken by anyone as we approached landing. The airline went towards the hangers where they were to take him. I was seated on that side and saw the honor guards remove the casket. I had tears rolling down my face. The gentleman seated next to me was crying too standing up singing “Amazing Grace.” Soon everyone was sing including the flight attendants. I never knew the name of the soldier, but I felt a need to pray for him and said a prayer for all to hear.

Loosing a family member who served is certainly hard. How do I know? I am a sister of a fallen soldier, my brother, who served in Afghanistan.

As a veteran this moved me to tears. I wish Vietnam vets had this much respect back then.

One thing about Americans is they honour their fallen with pride and dignity, from here in the UK best wishes to all your servicemen and women.

The fact that they stood and didn’t say a word said a lot about the respect a lot of people have for our soldiers.

This brought back so many memories for me as I was also a mom waiting for my Marine son to come out of the belly of a plane. So very painful. My heart goes out to all those who are grieving . Thank you Soldier for your service, and for now keeping heaven all secure.

As a USMC vet, this is tough to watch. With tears in my eyes I salute you, Warrior. RIP.

This reminds me of my father. He got shot 8 times on his mission. They said the bullet hit his face and heart. I was 2year old at the time. I don't know anything about that day when his body returns home. Wish i could have the chance to hear his voice again, cuz i don't have any memory about him.

Edit: Thanks a lot for your positive comment. My father indeed a very brave man. The love for his family and his country is amazing. My mom told me, he carried my clothes on his last mission so he can remember me whenever he miss me.

Edit: Well, this is to clear some misunderstanding. My father wasn't US soldier. And he died because he was protecting civillian on conflict area in my country. And, it wasn't in US. However, it still piss me off how some people is disrespecting fallen soldier and being rude to their family. It's such a shame

I love how Americans give respect to the soldiers fighting for their country and the ones who lost their lives fighting for their country.

This teared me up. A moment when everyone stands up and appreciates a soldier who died for them.

I’m a full grown 60 year old man. Not even an American. I tear up at the simplest, silliest sensitive things. A tv commercial, even a sad cartoon, and any sort of sad neglected suffering animal. It’s embarrassing, but it lets me know I have compassion.
This brought me to tears and it is so heartwarming to see the departing passengers stand for this brave, sacrificing soldiers final return home. A beautiful show of respect.
Wars should be fought by the cranky, old, greedy, corrupted men who start it, (who will never see the battlefield), not young boys just beginning their adulthood.
Respect from 🇨🇦 and condolences to this 🇺🇸 soldier and his loved ones. 💜🙏

I must say America pays such a beautiful and really heartfelt welcome to their fallen heroes it's beautiful yet sad to watch. The fallen soldiers returning home to a hero's welcome and the respect that is given to them is really a beautiful sight.

I'm a 75 year old disabled Vietnam veteran and it gladdens my heart to see people being respectful toward our fallen soldiers. It was not so when we came home from Vietnam, but I was not at all prepared for the undeserved levels of scorn, vehemence, and hatred we endured at the hands of our own people. I did not want or expect a heroes welcome--I did expect civility---but it was not to be. God bless you all!

I am a vet who has been working for an airline for 25 years now. I’ve handled too many of these, unfortunately. No matter what I’m doing that day, if the procession drives by I always stop and give a salute.
