What's unfortunate is that this Soldier gave his life for a bunch of ungrateful citizens

If they cannot respect the dead, then we shouldn't respect their existence.

If it was a plane full of drunken high schoolers, I would expect something like this. But, those are grown-ass adults - some old enough to collect social security checks. SMH

From a vet who has had my hind end saved by the Air Force more than once…much respect and love to this young airman and his family. Go easy bro, you are never forgotten. 😔

At this point, nothing shocks me. People are beyond disgusting these days and don’t care about anyone but themselves. Love for this soldier and their family. Thank you for your service.

I saw a similar incident when flying home to Hawaii years ago. It was the only time, I heard a flight attendant say "Shame" instead of "Aloha" to the tourists disembarking the plane.

I was at the gate when a fallen soldier came through. Having never experienced it, I didn’t know what was going on. All the vets stood up and saluted and you could hear a pin drop in the concourse. It was one of the most somber experiences in my life. I found out later he was one of three that died in a helicopter crash. I’ll never forget the look on that mother’s face as she stood on the tarmac.

My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones while serving our country. 🙏🏻

I've worked in an airport for 17 years and, without telling you my life story, just believe me when I tell you I have met the worst of humanity. Without writing an essay, let me just tell all passengers out there something: if you can't handle the inherent stress of travelling and behave yourself, then don't do it.

I can't even blame it on age because they all seemed older

I am French.
We keep flowering the graves of the fallen GIs we have buried over here, daily, after 80 years.
This behavior I witness is inexcusable.
Respect to a fallen soldier, period.

Absolutely disgusting. SHOW SOME RESPECT for a man who gave his life for ignorant people like them. Shameful.

About 25 years ago I was traveling by plane in Russia on business. When we landed and I was walking down the stairs to the runway a casket was being taken out of the Jet. I said "sad" to the flight attendant and she said "he was soldier". So having served in the US Army I step out of the line and saluted. I stood there as a man pushed the casket along. Two men seeing what I was doing also step out of the line and said in Russian "soldier?" I replied "Yes", they both came to attention and saluted. As we stood there saluting the captain of the jet came out and stood beside us and saluted to. We all held our salutes till the casket was gone. The men looked at me and said "but you are not Russian. Why would you salute?" I told them "because I too was once a soldier and we are all brothers."

I can’t believe I share a planet with those people. Full respect to those who stayed.

Don't open the cabin doors until the casket is off.

It’s a different story if it was one of their family members

As a retired Army disabled veteran I am shocked at the disrespect for this fallen hero, I'd bet all those standing never wore a military uniform, god bless this soldier.

I'm Indian not American, was in America flight... I sat in my seat, prayed 🙏 for the soldier and his family. It's come down to respect because they made the ultimate sacrifice.

When our son was returned, the people on the plane were so supportive, one lady sent us the photo from the window...
