He had been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan seven times and earned two Bronze stars, four Good Conduct Medals and was posthumously awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his work in central Africa, the Army Times reported. He was stationed at Fort Bragg.
Thank you Warrant Officer Thomas for your sacrifice and service to your country, and to your family for what they will continue to endure. All gave some, but some gave all.

The sobs of the woman recording this get me every time. A stranger that is willing to show emotion in public for a fallen soldier is moving. This is why we stand, please remember that this is why we stand damnit.

Vet here. Never had anyone to see me go or welcome me back in 10 years of service. Gained and lost brothers and sisters, and we all feel the pain just watching this

I stood watch overnight at the funeral home for a fellow Marine who was KIA in Iraq. Myself and 8 others volunteered our services to look after him, although none of us knew him personally. Didn’t matter though, because he was family to us, and we considered it an honor. You never forget those moments though.

You became America's Best by Becoming a United States Army Green Beret. You entered the battle knowing that you might not make it home. Your family supported you by their own sacifices that they made giving up their time with you. And you showed your love towards your fellow man by giving up your life for them. As a fellow Army Veteran, i salute you and your family. May God bless you brother and your family

As the father of a sailor I watch some of these wonderful home coming videos and remember how I felt when my son came home safe and sound. This is the stark reminder of the price that families pay, with their dearest blood. Rest in Peace young man.

I recall seeing this on the news. The people in the plane were advised by the captain to remain in the aircraft until the body of the fallen soldier had been removed. Everyone was watching out the windows as his wife touched the casket and the honor guard removed the casket. So sad.

Been there, done that for a 24 year-old killed in Afghanistan. It's burned into my memory.

This is who really pays for our foreign policy, not the pampered politicians living off our tax dollars with free healthcare and retirement benefits as they withhold benefits for fallen/injured soldiers...and us.
