I like that Kamaitachi were made as an explanation as to why some people find cuts or wounds on their ankles that they simply got from hiking through woods and tall plant filled areas. Shows how a humans mind can make up facinating creatures from a simple wound like a cut on your ankle

So many of these sound ominous and terrifying, and then the next sentence is “but they didn’t really do anything.” 🤣
