Oni are by far my favourite monster in Japanese mythology. Not just because I'm a sucker for giant monsters in general, but because of what they seem to represent. Most stories about them seem to portray them less as mindless monsters, and more like victims of tragedy. They became evil enough to become Oni due to unfortunate circumstances. They're tragic creatures.

But how long is too long, is it relative to their lifespan? Like could a turtle or tortoise or even a Greenland shark become one?
