"Amidst the towering walls of the impossible economy, the spirit of a young generation endures, daring to dream beyond the confines of hopelessness, and in their resilience, they forge a path to redefine what was once deemed unattainable."

A lot of my friends graduated after me. Their first year job searching they were turned down for “entry level jobs” because they were told they didn’t have enough experience. Imagine graduating with 40k+ of debt, then job searching and being told your degree doesn’t matter.

My worst fear is that we may be heading for a suicide pandemic in near future. The exhaustion, the frustration, the hopelessness, the emptiness in people are at alarmingly staggering level. Everybody is looking for an escape. The worst outcome is when people choose ending their life as the escape. My advice to everyone is make your life as simple as possible. Don't chase these extravagant lifestyles being promoted in social media. Don't get in to debt. Be simple, humble & save as much as possible.

A friend of mine once said "It's not the thought of dying that scares me, it is the thought of living that scares me."

Decades ago, a stupid, young Boomer could afford a middle-class lifestyle as a janitor. Now, a young person has to be the most frugal, savvy, valedictorian to even get a shot at the same thing Boomers got. I weep for our young children who had their futures sold out.

My son's best friend broke down and sobbed, "We're never going to be able to buy a home!" at his bachelor party. This is a guy with a 'goog' job in construction.

I was raised being told that a college degree is the End All Be All. So i went to college, attained my bachelor's, only to find out that not only can i NOT find a decent job, but my simple dream of living comfortably alone is a pipe dream. Makes me feel as if my entire life has been a lie.

And this is exactly why we have

1. Low birth rates.
2. Higher levels of depression.
3. Increased suicides.
4. Less people in relationships.

Don't forget the fact that there is literally no job security

I used to think everybody went broke during the Great Depression and other major crashes but they didn’t… Some made millions, I also thought everybody went out of business during these times but they didn’t, some went into business, there's always depression/recession for some people and there's always a good time for others, it's all about perspective.

I don't want billions of dollars or fancy cars and jets.

I just want a decent house in the woods with some livestock and a shed of tools.

This also explains low birth rates; I mean, if you're not enjoying the game of life, why would you recommend it to new players - especially if you would be solely responsible for ensuring the continuation of the new players? Also, people are not having kids because most people live unremarkable lives - so, what legacy is being preserved by arbitrarily continuing one's bloodline?

I am 64. Todays young people are getting screwed worse than my generation did. The government actively wants real estate to constantly go up which just devalues the currency. And the wealthiest people buy up real estate and thus force the prices to keep going up due to shrinking supply and then they raise the rents or stay empty. All real estate should be Owner Occupied by law .

There was no solution to this problem. You just made me more depressed. Born late 1980s. It made me feel like I wish someone would kill me and put me out of my misery. The idea of having to work multiple jobs in the future just to survive financially seems insane. Life should have purpose and meaning and not be about just surviving.

Remember "bachelor pads" back in the day? You don't hear that anymore. You hear "roommates" more frequently. That's how you know things are bad.
