After the beginning of full-scale aggression against Ukraine, Russian priorities have changed once and forever. The UK Ministry of Defence's report reveals a 68% increase in defence spending for 2024. Meanwhile, education and healthcare budgets remain stagnant, causing real spending cuts due to inflation. Experts reveal the alarming results of such thoughtless spending predicting huge problems in the public sector, up to inability to pay salaries. Forbes Ukraine reports that $167 billion from the Russian budget was spent on the war against Ukraine, diverting resources away from their own citizens. The situation in the aggressor state’s economy is becoming worse every day. Watch our news story to find out what consequences could this Kremlin policy have on Russian citizens and the course of war.

Russia is betting a very high price in the hope to get a territory covered with mines, toxic rubbles and devastation. Was it worth it ?

We must see the economic, technological and military “power” of Russia in perspective. Russia is indeed a huge country in square km, but only has 144 million inhabitants ( Mexico 128 million, Japan 123 million). This is 40% of USA or Eurozone. The GDP of Russia however is only 4% of the GDP of the Eurozone + USA, this is equal to the GDP of the small countries Belgium + Netherlands. And less than the GDP of the state of California. Relatively (per capita) the GDP of Russia is very low. Beside that the economy of Russia has signs of a 3th world economy. Half of the income is coming from oil & gas. Based on this, Russia isn’t a world power. And for sure, it isn’t a economic power. This is the reason they can’t build up and maintain a big army. The army they already have is far beyond normal proportions in relation to their GDP. This hurts their budgets and prosperity permanently. In this perspective, Russia is a dictatorship with a huge inferiority complex and dangerous megalomaniac ambitions. The path they chose will be their downfall.

$167 Billion!? What an absolute waste of money, and all in the name of terrorizing and murdering innocent people! And it just makes the lives of average Russians harder.

And countries like Hungary with their wannabee dictator, can always leave the EU if you do not like our Future Program.
Nobody is forcing you to stay in the EU, but Russia, who cares they wanted a Russian Empire, and failed at Ukraine.

There's an old phrase about choices in government spending, "guns or butter." Putin doesn't have enough for either.

Although I live in South Africa, I have strong Ukrainian roots and unwavering support for Ukraine.. According to some very recent media news posts, ruzzia is now pushing hard for the BRICS currency to be established. Yes, we can all see why. It was heavily speculated ahead of the BRICS Summit in August the bloc would put forward a proposal to create a new currency between the participating nations to ease trade and to side-step sanctions imposed by the West. Going by russia’s economist, Sergey Glazyev's comments, the new BRICS currency might be launched during the 16th summit in 2024. The development will lead to a paradigm shift in the global financial sector threatening the existence of the US dollar. The US and the West need to wake up and smell the coffee now before it's too late.
