I had relatives that never got over the Depression, lived modestly, drove old cars, etc. When they passed away in the 60s, everyone was stunned to learn they were sitting on millions.

On a brighter note, every recession comes with an equal chance in the fin-mrkt if you're early informed and equipped, I've read folks amass up to 7 figures during these times, and even pull it off easily in a favorable economy. Truthfully, I’d need guide please for a boomer like me to attain such amount for retirement, we definitely need to benefit from this situation somehow.

The Fed is undoubtedly responsible for the present catch-up efforts, as they were first too slow to control inflation. The pandemic, supply-chain issues, are all contributing reasons to the impending inflationary perfect storm. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $500K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

In high school I wrote a paper on the collapse that resulted in the great depression and it has always stuck with me. The huuuge credit and loan rates that were part of the triggers never left me. I have felt pretty isolated in my observations lately so thank you for making this! My only concern today is that A) we are no longer part of the gold standard and B) the federal reserve's printing of money, and interest rate shifting. These factors actually make me worry that this will hit worse than the great depression.
Great vid, thanks!

Where i live, even the Charity shops are closing. My Dad told me 50 years ago, to always keep an eye on those charity shops...they are the canary in the coalmine.

The only difference this time will be all the people making Tik Tok videos while standing in the soup lines.

If ppl. Would put down thier phones and talk to old folks, they would learn much. My great grandma I made come to school as a "live" history project. She talked about life before lights how they lived.
The teacher gave me an A+ and the kids couldnt quit asking questions. 15 min report lastwd 2 hours. She was 102. Idk who liked it more grandma or the kids.

Grandma went through the great depression as a teen. She told me one year all they got for Christmas was oranges from Florida. She said they never hurt for meat as they lived on a farm. She said each Sunday her mom would go out and kill a chicken to cook for the family after church. She said it was so bad though for others. She lived like she was always in the great depression until the day she died. She put money aside each week into a savings account and then a CD. She literally lived debt free for the last 40 years of her life and kept her cars 20 years before buying the next one cash! I only hope to have our home paid off in the next 3 years!

My mother-in-law’s parents were young during the Great Depression. She told me that the price levels fell because there was deflation due to a severe decline in demand from the high unemployment - if you had a job everything was so cheap. You could afford steak every night- IF you only could find a job.

Finance is fairly simple. My golden rule is: Live your life like money is always short, because eventually, it will be.
