Yeah, but Paul also says that if there is no interpreter then the person who speals the tongue should be quiet and speak to God. The whole of scripture needs to be understood and declared.

You have to interpret what your saying to the church.

This pretty much makes the gift of interpretation of those pointless because the way it’s being presented in the Bible that someone outside of the person speaking in tongue interpretation, which therefore will make it more genuine as to come from God only anybody can just say that’s what it says

According to the Bible, no, it is not biblical to interpret your own tongue:
1 Corinthians 14:27-28
When someone speaks in tongues, there should be an interpreter present. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should remain quiet and speak to God and themselves.
1 Corinthians 14:13
Those who speak in tongues should pray that they may interpret what they say.
1 Corinthians 12:10
The ability to interpret tongues is just as important as speaking in tongues.
Spiritual gifts are for the edification of the church
The spiritual gifts are meant to edify the church, not the self.
The Bible also says that speaking in tongues will cease when we enter the eternal state. This is because we will know everything fully, and there will be no more need for miraculous gifts like tongues

I think we all need to agree that there is going to be disagreement on this topic. The First ever tongues spoken is the Book of Acts 2. We all agree that the tongues given to the apostles was the gift off speaking a language that existed but they have never spoken before. We know that this was a language because the foreigners who were present understood what they were saying and the spirit didnt need to gift them the understanding. Now we have an understanding on what Tongues can be. A language that already exitst.

Now lets come to 1st Corinthians 14. Does anyone ever wonder why Paul needs to address the speaking tongues to the church of Corinth? have you not asked yourself why is tongues not mentioned to the Church of Collossians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philipeans if receiving the gift of the holy spirit is a phenomena thing?. Are these churches not filled with the holy spirit. The reason why he is addressing this is cause hes dealing with the pagan acts that the corinth city was customed to -

i Corinthians 10:20
No, not at all. I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don’t want you to participate with demons.

Paul is addressing paganism acts with in the city of Corinth is is now spilling into the church. So why tongues.

if you further research the history of the pagan Gods you find many articles on the Goddes Pythia which was only 6 mil from Corrinth look what one articles say:

The pythia was the oracular priestess in the great sanctuary of Apollo in Delphi. During a seance, she would be in some kind of trance and would utter incomprehensible sounds, which were converted into hexameters by the priests. Another article stated that the pagan acts of Pythia eventually died out due to Christianity.

this is why Paul was addressing the gibberish tongues noone could understand her thats why he put in the rules to why there should be an interpreter to prevent the pagans act entering into the church. He didnt stop the speaking in Tongues cause it was a general gift of an existing language .

So paul said the spekaing in tongues is for the unbeliever so that they can hear their language and come to christ ...Is that is what happening then he said if not then remain in silent.a
