How to make Picadillo for Pastelillos/Empanadillas aka Empanadas

In this video, I will be showing you how to make a version of Picadillo which is a Puerto Rican style ground beef mix which can be used to stuff your Pastelillos.

As a quick note, I would like to state that this video was recorded months ago before the whole Goya controversy so hopefully you read this description before becoming offended if you are on the opposing side of the fence. For future videos I won’t be displaying products unless it’s a sponsor, to avoid mixing politics with food. We’re all here to learn and eat some good food and that’s all that should matter at the end of the day.

Now, there is a bit of back and forth on the island and in the states when it comes to the name of this appetizer. Some people like myself, are known to call this Pastelillos for its fork closed edges while others call this Empanadillas, but for me that’s when the edges are crimped shut. Also others call this Empanadas, which is what this is more less known for in the states.
