This is more true with higher tier play. In my elo, we all have object permanence issues and forget enemies exist when we can't see them.

Also, the amount of vision you need decreases with higher play. Higher mmr players have better deduction skills and can know where someone can be without needing vision

The amount of times my friends will go die to drop a ward in a spot where we don’t need vision is absolutely astounding.

I feel like vision value kinda changes based on champ. If im Zoe mid, i really like to have vision to hit things. If im Fiora top, i only need to count heads on the minimap, and i can usually deduce who is where, while im in the side🤷

I definitely agree. As you gain more experience and knowledge playing League, vision becomes less helpful.

However, in solo queue where there is not much communication, I think vision is still king for things like setting vision around dragon for a soul fight or top side for a baron rotation or mid push. It helps to have vision in bushes too so you can keep a fight going rather than losing vision of an enemy in a bush where they have an opportunity to outplay you.

i lowkey recommend learning some basic chess to learn to visualize future game states, its helped me more than i thought as someone who grew up playing chess

That's exactly what I tell my friends when we play, but it has no effect.
3/4 years ago I realised that explaining and talking isn't all that effective when dealing with League players. If you want them to start doing something you need to show them in their games/replays what they're doing wrong and what can be done better.

You said something all players should have understanding of by now lol.

It's a weird example when you could be taking soul and 2 people of the enemy team are topside jungle. Vision is good because you can tell where people are and where they aren't. It's doubly effective.

Same reason why people can play some games knowing a jungler's entire pathing for the first 10min.

If you know clear speed, lane matchups, and stuff. There's a high chance you know where they'll path to.

Also counting their CS so you know which camps they did.

Who is going to tell LS that the most important objective of the game is topside and having control over it in time is extremely useful?

Vision does matter

How do you play the game if you are blind?

Loool I remember watching this gay guy years ago can’t believe he is still playing league hahaha

in more simpler words if you are doing drake just focus on bot side jungle where you think vision is needed don't waste wards on top side

LS loves to have these oversimplified hot takes, because he knows it's good engagement bait... I wish he was a bit more focused on giving good/reasonable takes, rather than controversial ones.

I'm not gonna lie, LS absolutely is delusional about half of his opinions. "Let's freeze at 35 minutes" yeah ok buddy, let's just stay off the map for 5 minutes and see how that works out for us.

I disagree. Having vision in enemy topside jungle can help you see if someone isint around the drake so you can confidently start it with number advantage.
