i learned gay at 5. my family watched glee and my aunt is OBSESSED with all things gay(not bi, not lesbian, GAY, MAN ON MAN) she doesnt support me though, neither does my mom. they think that if ur pan/bi, ur just selfish(idk man) and that you will end up leaving the gender u have for the other gender

I just read some of the comments under that post as my child commented here. Poor kids, you feel so confused with all these gay/lesbian things, many of you don't even understand what sex is and how children got conceived and born. But you're already puzzled about being gay or straight.
Relax, kids, you don't have to choose now, enjoy your playful and careless childhood!
Really, you will have so many opportunities to understand whether you like boys or girls, don't worry about it now.
There are a few facts for you:

1. It is normal to like your own gender when you're 9-16 years old and it doesn't mean you're gay. It is either normal human friendship or the psychological process of self-identification.

2. You can not know whether you're straight or gay/lesbian until your 20s, before that time you might be trying different relationships with different genders and it is normal. You can be straight trying bi relationships or you can be a gay in heterosexual (straight) relationships. It's your journey and exploration, just relax and explore without labelling yourself as gay/straight/trans etc.

3. You don't have to make any decisions about changing your biological gender until you reach adulthood, because once you start hormonal therapy things are getting complicated and you might not be able to reverse the process. More than that, changing gender (hormonal therapy) might affect your general health. So, do it only when you are 100% sure in your decision, had experienced different relationships and reached adulthood to make this important decision in your life.

For now, relax and enjoy your childhood, time flies really quick and in a few years, you'll not be able to return to your happy childhood. Enjoy your life and if you have a question, just ask.

Straighter than a ruler with internalized homophobia because of religion (that I've now deconstructed from lol) -> straight ally because I realized being against love was weird -> "girls are cute, but like, I wouldn't date them" confusion -> "wait...maybe I would" bisexual -> "WOMEN 😍" bisexual vs lesbian marathon -> "actually I wouldn't date anyone" aroace -> grey-aro and bi -> "now confident that I'm grey-aro and bi, but gender identity is another issue" confusion 😍
