IRON MAIDEN will get CRAZY about Run For Your Lives Tour... and this is why!

Iron Maiden finally heard us!

For months we’ve been talking about what exactly will Iron Maiden do to celebrate their 50th Anniversary which is coming up next year… and so now it looks like the band has finally heard us and stopped all the teasing… and honestly, it’s even better than we hoped for!

Just now the boys announced their Run For Your Lives World Tour, with a special setlist focusing solely on the early days of Iron Maiden, and which will kick off next summer in Europe… more precisely on May 27 in Budapest, Hungary, going through all of June and July… with a couple of odd breaks in between which may mean that some additional dates are at least a possibility, and a final stop being the Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw, Poland on August 02…

The coolest thing is that it looks like Run For Your Lives Tour will not in any way be a rip off of the Legacy of the beast Tour, as it will feature songs ONLY from the "golden era" of the band, so from the 1980’s self-titled debut album through Fear of the Dark, and according to the band’s manager Rod Smallwood, Iron Maiden will cover classics and fan favourites from the first nine albums many of which they haven’t played in years and many Iron Maiden will likely never play again in the future…

Now I guess that means that we will definitely get at least one song from each of the first 9 albums… including something from No Prayer For the Dying, which by the way now that Somewhere in Time has gotten its dues, is by far the most overlooked out of those 9, as well as some of their biggest hits which so many people have been complaining about the band not performing during The Future Past Tour!

I’ve been listening to them since I was five and they are my favorite band. Finally after 41 years I am seeing them live October, 16th in Tacoma, Washington. My girlfriend got me the tickets and I cried.

Rod says it’s going to be an epic setlist, but we know it’s going to be 15-16 songs. 2 that they always play (Iron Maiden and Fear of the Dark), a bunch of classics that are played on nearly every tour, and maybe 3 or 4 songs that are popular, but haven’t been played for a while. Plus if it’s 15-16 songs and they something from every album they will only do 1 to 3 songs from any album, so unlikely to be any real deep cuts. I’m thinking something like:

My immediate thought when I saw the promo was that Eddie bears more than a passing resemblance to Paul. Glad to see someone else noticed. How awesome would it be if Paul were able to share the stage with them somewhere along the way and do one of those songs. Even better, though, would be an American leg of this tour.
