About Iron Maiden:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of 44 years they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.

The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

I am 54 years old, I have been listening to these legends since their first album. Two weeks ago, I enjoyed a concert with my daughters. I'm so rich!

Interrupting this song by commercial should be a crime.

1. This song is so immensely beautiful, haunting, powerful, and phenomenal.
2. I believe they have at least one more album in them.
3. Even if they don't, if this was the final track they ever recorded, I can be at peace with it.

I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was September of 2021 and we were traveling as a family to the ranch, seemingly in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. We started playing Senjutsu to finish it as we arrived at the ranch just right after midnight. The song began to play just as we left the highway and entered a dirt road connected to the ranch. All five of us fell into a deep silence in the middle of nowhere, in complete darkness, with no sound but the notes of this melody. As the song ended, my father broke the silence with a simple "wow." I nodded in agreement.
As we arrived, I tried to remember the first time I listened to Iron Maiden. My memories of a Sunday morning when I was around 10 years old (Now I am 30), sitting in the backyard after breakfast, came flooding back. I recall my dad turning on the CD player and listening to "Running Free." and since then, it started being my favorite band. The band had evolved since then, and they aged very well. I thought that If Iron Maiden never released another album, this song would be the perfect way to conclude almost 50 years of career.

imagine being a 46 years old band and still being able to release that kind of music. Absolutely amazing

I can´t believe that some guys at 60´s can give us a song and an album like this. I'am crying while i am writing this. Unfortunately, they are undoubtly at the end of their glorious career, only because the time. I'd just want to hug you all and say thank you for company in variest moments of my life. I hope for one more album, if it is possible. If it is not, thank you all once again. My kids will keep the legacy, wheter they like or like. There is no option. Greetings from Brazil!

iron maiden is the only band that can make a song longer than 10 minutes and somehow still make it feel too short.

My younger brother passed away last week and this reminded me of him so much, he would have loved this song so much he was a big maiden fan. RIP Brother until we meet again, I wish you could be here to enjoy all the new music that's to come. Sleep well.

EDIT: Thank you all so much for the kind words and support. Maiden fans are truly amazing people. Thank you for making the world feel a little less dark my brother would be so happy to see the messages.

Bruce is a legend, battled and overcame throat cancer to come back and deliver this masterpiece. One of his best vocal performances ever, and the band hasn't lost a step. Let's hope this isn't their final song, but if it is what a way to go out

Lost in anger. Life in danger.

The bite in his voice when he sings this. The forlorn harmony that comes after. This is the peak of so many moments in life

2 years and this song is already a maiden classic. 🤗

Without a doubt, one of the greatest songs Iron Maiden have ever created...

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse 1]
Beginning of a sunrise
Bores a big hole in the sky
Not to reason why that
Armed children are in this world
And fighting in the name of god's way
Mourning bleak and utter waste
The vanity of the world is assured now

[Verse 2]
Prey upon the weak no more
The spirits of those who are gone
Propaganda of the battles
That are lost or won
And count your blessings still alive
Of those who managed to survive
Inside oblivion of that hell on earth

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 3]

All you have been, all you have seen
Lost in somewhere in your dreams
How the angels they have fallen
All is nothing what it seems

[Verse 4]

In the voices that you hear now
In the voices in your head
Now are thinking of a lifetime
You can never feel again

[Verse 5]

I wish I could go back
Will never be the same again
Bled for all upon this hell on earth
And when I leave this world
I hope to see you all again
On the other side of hell on earth

[Verse 6]

Upon the eyes of good
I'm following the light again
In between the dark of hell on earth
On the other side
I'll see again heaven
So far away from this hell on earth

[Guitar Solo]

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 7]

You dance on the graves who bled for us
Do you really think they'll come for us
Knowledge and virtue taken by lust
Live on the edge of those that you trust

[Verse 8]

You think that you have all the answers for all
In your arrogant way only one way to fall
Burning a lamp that is fire in your hands
Taking you further from these lands

[Bridge]
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger

[Guitar Solo]

[Bridge]
Love in anger, life in danger
Lost in anger, life in danger

It should be illegal to throw ads in the middle of songs, YouTube. It should be illegal. This is a masterpiece
edit - in reading some of these replies, I have to admit it must be quite a privilege to be able to carry your record player and your CD player with you everywhere you go! Despite the fact that I bought the CD, I still have to stream it. Some people are so lucky….

The year was 1980. I was just on the verge of becoming a teenager. I had $10 of grass cutting money in my pocket and was heading to the record store to see if there was a new Black Sabbath album I could add to my sparse collection. I knew the store well, I had practically worn a path to the “Heavy Metal” section. As I flipped through the album covers, I didn’t find anything that I didn’t already own from BS., and I kept on flipping. Then, suddenly I got by the Iron Butterfly section and there, staring at me with the most gruesome, soul ripping stare, was Eddie. My first reaction was, “wow, that’ll piss Mom off”. The price was good, $9.99 iirc, and the owner knew me as a steady customer and let the taxes slide. I practically ran home to put my new find on the record player. From the very first bars of Prowler, I knew I was hooked! Here we are 40yrs later and I’m still as much of a hardcore fan as I ever was! As I am writing this my Mom is in a hospital room, holding my Father’s hand as he slips the bonds of this life. It has been a brutal 11 month battle, watching my Dad try to recover from falling off the shed and breaking his neck. But, he will soon be out of pain and resting peacefully. I just know in my heart that Clive is there with a pair of sticks, holding a guitar for my Dad. Rock in Peace Dad, I love you!! And as for my Mom, when she saw Eddie on my album cover, all she said was “he looks like he needs a good meal, and a bit of a haircut.”God bless’r. Thank you for helping me through this darkest hour. I haven’t needed the Iron’s more!! UP THE IRONS \m/, , \m/ (I know this was a long one, and if you made it to the end, drop what you are doing and go tell whomever you have in your life that you love them, before you can’t anymore).
