Thyroid disorders both under active thyroid as well as overactive thyroid that is hypo and hyperthyroidism can cause problems while conceiving as well as during pregnancy. This can cause irregular cycles. Hypothyroidism can cause irregular, heavier, lighter and in some cases periods may stop while you are hypothyroid and hence it causes problems while conceiving. Hypothyroidism can also cause irregular cycles and hence causes difficulty while conceiving. Once the thyroid disorders are treated, and the thyroid hormone levels are back to normal, there is or problem while conceiving and a successful pregnancy should happen.
