This is sadly so common, I’m still experiencing stalking and harassment and the police are utterly useless. One officer was more interested in my ‘nice apartment’ than the threatening behaviour, it’s so disheartening no doubt many resign themselves to this being the way life will be until the stalker moves on. Women’s Aid are very helpful. I pray more laws are brought in to protect - not just brought in but enforced.

I would argue that the criminal justice system is not always the best route for dealing with this issue. Many are mentally ill, but due to the chronic underfunding of mental health services in the NHS, they can't access the help, treatment and medications required to treat their illness.
