The best villains are the ones where I start doubting my own morality. Part of me understands Maruki and maybe I would’ve also fallen for his salvation if I had been there. Same goes for Viktor from Arcane, who is very similar. They both believe they are doing the genuine right thing and you could be forgiven for agreeing. But what they do ultimately stops humanity from moving forward and that is not something worth protecting.
