Another funny part is going inside a store at Kichijoji which completely messes with her pathfinding so she just goes back and forth outside the store until you come out 😂

It's great because you actually see characters in the background of some scenes, even before they're introduced. The flashback ones obviously, but I did see Haru in one of the walking to school scenes before her point in the story.

I read a comment a while ago that said "I imagine Makoto was about to follow him into the bathroom until she realized what he was about to do and out of embarrassment she started to freak out"
Now, everytime I start playing again persona 5 i go to the bathrooms thinking about it

Alternatively, this perfectly reasonable behavior for when the person you're following goes somewhere you don't want to go, is entirely intentional behavior and in no way a bug.

No kidding when after the scenes with Makoto talking to the principal i thought this would happen but i was like nah no way. Then next thing you know I'm in the school and I see her and I'm like ok she's probably just gonna stay there and then SHE STARTS CHASING ME, and I was like WTF and immediately fast traveled out of there. Like this creeped me out like crazy, she's not even good at hiding it.

As i know she can lose you. When you go like to Kichijoji and turn to the left she miss you and start searching you running around the city.

i headcanon that this isnt a bug and she actually just doesnt know what to do until joker gets out

Actually, she does this a lot! Going into any alleyway makes her go all the way to an out of bounds area, like in shibuya where she'll get stuck by the movie theater, it's even funnier when she follows you when you go to kichioji I believe with ryuji because she'll go waaay further out of bounds
