Having lost way too many loved ones over the past few years, that little speech really hit.

The "HARRY!!" was hilarious.

When Dan yelled out, “Harry!” after the snakes jumped out of the box in this scene, it was funny, sad and heartwarming. It is my favorite moment of the whole premiere episode.

Night Court was one of the GREATEST sitcoms ever. It should have received way more accolades than it did.

Harry Stone, a prankster till the end. But he did it all out of LOVE. He would only pull them on the people he cared about.
GOD BLESS Harry Anderson. He was his character.

This is a throwback to the original first episode when Harry introduced himself as the judge by shooting snakes out of a gun saying "if I wasn't the judge could I do this in his office?"

Dan was right to be paranoid about that box. Even from beyond the grave, Harry Stone strikes with his pranks.

I'm so glad this is just a continuation of the show and not a reboot.

I worked as a groundskeeper at a campground from 2016-2018 where I lived in a camper & I only had antenna tv. I discovered Night Court during that time while trying to find something to watch late at night. I started watching it every night. Such a great show.

I loved this segment of the first episode. It did many things for me. It reminded me of how great the original series was. It showed me that the new cast and crew have done the work to honor the old series, while finding their own voices.
It also reminded me of how good an actor Larroquette really is. That, in addition to having incredible comic timing, he is capable of reaching deep within himself to give us shining moments of GREAT DRAMATIC acting as well.
In that short speech he gave to the janitor, he showed us the real Dan Fielding. A man who grew in character, met the love of his life, and lost her to cancer and, as he says, closed off the heart to avoid pain. But, a man, who, all joking aside, was a far more generous man than he would let on.

I hope this series keeps following this path. If it does, it may just be as successful as the original was.

This gives the feeling of visiting your childhood town and driving past the house you grew up in and places you would go...a mixture of happiness and sorrow of the times you took for granted and the people you thought would be with you forever.

Started re watching the original 1st season of Night Court (1984) and holy cow. It holds up today. Like absolutely funny and on point. Not many 80s sitcoms can do that in 2023.

Great shot was Dan looking at the office from the hall. It was a few seconds but we've all been there. A few seconds but years of memories

30 years later Harry's classic pranks are still funny as they ever were, RIP HARRY.🙏😪

1:28 - 1:35/ Talk about an 80's flashback! Right down to that scared voice Dan always had in moments like these. HARRY! Here's to you, Judge Stone. Thanks, as well, to Dan Fielding for coming back.

Possibly the most brilliant idea for bringing back a show from the past ever conceived. We miss you Harry...

its a shame that most of the original cast of Night Court has passed on. Harry Anderson as Harry Stone, Markie Post as Christine Sullivan, Charles Robinson as Mac. As well as Selma and Flo who died during the run. Selma died after Season 2 and Flo died after Season 3. At least Richard Moll and Marsha Warfield are still around but they haven't reprise their roles as Bull and Roz yet. Out of the entire original cast, only John Laroquette returned as Dan Fielding. I hope Bull returns, he's funny. And Roz is one badass bailiff.
