So fucking hilarious, and yet, I kept thinking....couldn't he have just written something on a piece of paper?😂🤣😂

This is one of those times when the dude should've had a card on him explaining his condition, like the slo-mo tortoise guy.

For four seasons, Night Court aired as part of NBC's first generation of what would later be known in the 90s as, Must-See TV. From 1984-1988, it was broadcast alongside The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, and Hill Street Blues (later LA Law). Ratings for the series peaked between 1986-1988 when the series was the 7th most-watched show on television.

The "shut up" was hilarious!
blockmasterscott
Oy! When you want him to talk, he says nothing. When you want him to be quiet, he won't shut up! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣

Is it possible? Could he be a monk who has taken a vow of silence?

When TV actually had good shows on it.

Season Five (from which the clip of this episode is from) was when the show was at it's peak. One of the best things about this season and Season 4 was Reinhold Weege's father providing the memorable laughter in the audience, you can hear his unique laugh in virtually every episode and in Season 6 as well (the last season Reinhold Weege was part of the show). His father's laugh can also be heard when the Starry Night Productions Logo is shown at the end of the episode credits (Starry Night Productions gets it's name from the production company Sgt. Harris used in Barney Miller when he formed a production company to make a porn film for a sting operation (Weege was the writer of that episode)).

A pen and paper people, a pen and paper.

Unfortunately, only Charles Moll and John Larroquette are still alive from this bunch. Time marches on.

I'm fairly certain that those who take a vow of silence can arguably speak in a court of law and not break their vow it would not count against their vow of silence
james-udlp
Can you imagine being silent all that time, then blurting out YEEEES!
tjable
Ah we'll miss you Harry, Charles, and Markie 😔😔😔

he finally starts talking and the sister told him to shut up i did love that show. the old little white bailiff woman was funny as hell too. like she was 80 and funny as hell smoking her cigs.
tonynelligan
Isn't this taking the right to remain silent just a little too far?

I doubt we could get any impartial judicial employees like them
