I love MotorWeek reviews! New car journalists have become just a bunch of complainers that don’t do anything except read a spread sheet and nit-pick or complain about everything so they can seem like they know something. I miss the old-school car journalists like those from MotorWeek that try to highlight why a new car is good, not just why they are bad.

We traded a 2020 EX-L for a 2023 EX-L a month ago. It is still slow although I noticed that once the engine warms up, acceleration is better. Overall, it is vastly better than the previous model. The road noise on the old one was off the charts. This one is much quieter and smoother.

3 weeks ago, a drunk driver crossed over several lanes of traffic and hit my friend head-on in her 2016 Honda HR-V. Thankfully she got out with only a few bruises from the airbag. She just picked up her new 2023 HR-V a couple days ago. I think Honda did an amazing job on these vehicles.

It appears Honda hates their 1.5T. Every product that greatly needs it doesn't have it... this thing NEEDS it. I couldn't imagine owning this thing in Colorado.

My mom has a first gen HR-V and loves it, glad to see it grow!

The HRV should have the 1.5T and the CRV should have the 2.0T. Otherwise I appreciate Honda’s effort. I can tell that they are really trying to address criticism and make solid, affordable vehicles with good styling.

The 10.8 seconds 0-60 time is definitely slow, but that’s almost its only weak point. (I think Honda could have improved the cargo space, but that’s my only other nitpick).

The 113 ft 60-0 stopping distance is excellent. They didn’t mention it in this video, but it also has a really tight turning circle of 35.1 ft, for great parking ability.

This thing has really good bones.

If Honda can bring in a Touring model with the 1.5 turbo or a strong hybrid, this would be a no-brainer for anyone who doesn’t need a huge cargo space.

Just got my 23 EX-L. Traded in a 2020 EX. The 23 is very much improved. I ordered it on October 12 and picked it up December 20

Well, John was very polite about it, but there's no other way of saying, it is very slow for modern standards. However, it is a very good car with lots of space, nice interior, but I can't fathom how Honda forgot rear A/C vents and armrest.

I have an old Corolla that does 0-60 in the 9 second range and I can just about keep up with traffic. 10.8 sec is unacceptably slow imo!

I miss the manual HR-Vs. I got to test drive one back in 2017. Fun to drive!

For all those complaining that it is slow. Try driving an 1988 ford ranger with a tired engine. My ranger could not max out its 85mph speedo. This thing is just fine.
