Protip: "Bye bye germ" was a cheezy Japanese pun.

The Japanese word for "bacteria" is "baikin, " so White blood cell was saying "bye bye-kin." A good English localization might be "And don't come back-teria"

As soon as the show started, he was smiling like a kid in a candy shop without a single complaint, that's how you know it's accurate.

The reason why the platelets are tiny is because they are called 血小板(kesshouban) in Japanese and “小”means “small”.

There’s actually a theory that the main red blood cell is a sickle cell, as evident by the shape of the hair swoop and the fact she is constantly lost.

She gets lost due to a disease known as “main character quirk” in which a main character gets lost easily to be cute

I'm not exaggerating when I say this show got me a higher grade in biology class I never would have been able to keep all these things straight in my head without the visualization of these characters.

This show taught me more about my body than normal health classes, and I think all subjects should have an anime like this and it should be played in school.

I love how Dr. Mike calls out the medical jargon before the characters in the show do. It's like he read the manga already but instead of manga it's a 2000 page medical journal lol.

Funny how this anime is like more medically accurate than a lot of live action medical shows 😂

I loved that he was confused as to why the red blood cell was lost, because there's actually an explanation to that.!
Our particular red blood cell-chan has a fun little detail of the hair curl (cow lick) in her character design. It's actually a cute little clue that she's actually a sickle cell, which explains why she gets lost so easily.

I feel like this anime you can’t just watch the “best episode “ you need to watch them all to keep up with the story line .

Doctor mike: “Recommend the best episode and I can watch that.”

The way Cells at Work crams so much information into itself, trying to be as accurate as possible, while still being fun and interesting is just incredible. This is how subjects should be taught, at least at a base level.

I've read somewhere the reason why the plateletes has the images as little kids is because their life span are only 8-9 days.

The moment I realized Dr. Mike doesn’t watch a lot of anime:

Mike: 😱🤯😱 “That was bloodier then expected!”
