Cells At Work: Code Black was an awesome manga, and now they’ve finally made the anime! We talk about the depressing journey of a red blood cell, platelets, an irritable stomach, the dangers of smoking, bacteria, carbon monoxide poisoning, antibiotics, and those savage white blood cells! This was just the first episode of Code Black though, which one should I watch next?

I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

I heard that people that read Cells at Work: Code Black got so sad over the suffering of the cells they actually started changing their behaviors to have healthier bodies

normal cells at work: playful, educational, light hearted, no one important dies.
Code black: *death is depressing bitch. Get used to it*

Anyone else think the creators should do a Cells At Work: Pregnancy Edition!? Like, showing how the "daily routine" of the cells change as the body changes throughout the season? I bet you could have a lot of fun writing that script!

Code BLACK isn't a second season, it's a spin-off, there is an actual season 2 that picks up from where the original series left off

My dad had his last cigarette April 18, 1998. Nearly 23 years later, even though my ma is STILL smoking, he still hasn't given in. I'm so proud of him.

Biology teachers should recommend the manga and the anime to their students. I like how the first one is about a healthy body, Code Black is about an unhealthy body but I agree with the notion there should be one about pregnancy or even an infant how a human develops.

This isn’t really a season 2, it’s like a spin-off in a different person’s body. There is a season 2 which is just as wholesome and educational as the first (which is still just as amazing as season 1), but Code Black takes place in an older, much more unhealthy body and handles a lot more dark subject matter.

I am Japanese. We couldn't actually watch this anime in class, but our high school biology teacher recommended we watch it! So I watched it and studied it! It was very easy to understand.

Interesting fact: There are companies in Japan that will simply work employees to death (sometime literally) then discard them and hire new ones. These companies are known as Black Companies. The title of this season is a reference to such a thing, as this body is overworked.

I mean even *doctors have to have their favorite anime.*

Fun fact: "Code Black" in the title of the show is a reference to "black companies" - companies that subject workers to excessive overtime without pay and have a hostile work environment (power harassment etc.).

Don't let your body become a black company people is the takeaway here.

When you realise that all the functioning cells in the body are depicted as people, who also probably have their own active cells inside them, and vice versa, shit doesnt end :P

Just finished all episodes of cells at work code black. Towards the end, I feel so sympathetic with how the cells feel as their world is ending that I swear to myself, I would be living healthy. 😭
