Edit: Watching via a 4K Fire Stick, picture quality is better with input signal plus turned on, but via my 4K disc player, i have to turn it off, otherwise i get a smooth soft image, lacking detail. Seems its the opposite via the fire stick, great image on, soft image off.

Also with the fire stick, sometimes when i boot it up, the Input signal plus has turned itself off, so i have to turn it back on again.



Image quality and detail is better on Samsung without their HDR.

You can turn off the HDR by turning off input signal plus for the input you want to use without HDR.

I do this on all 4K films now as there is more detail and better picture quality without Samsung's HDR.

You can check if your TV is displaying 4K with or without HDR, by selecting the source for the input your using.

Sometimes my TV changes to 1080p even though I'm watching a 4k film, via a 4k player, but turning on input signal plus, then off again, will give me a 4K image without HDR.

All my 4K films look better without Samsung's HDR.

My Samsung keeps defaulting back to 2084 whenever I view various streaming content (Netflix, Prime, etc.). How do I make the 1886 setting permanent? Turn off HDR in the tv settings?

I have the Samsung Q60B TV and it is terrible with HDR. Almost any new TV show on Netflix or Disney+ is too dark to watch... Samsung support is useless - they say all the TV shows are the problems... Netflix support says the TV is the problem. I spent tons of time experimenting with settings and checking online - the best settings I could find was to set gamma correction to max and shadow detail - but even then its still not good... Rebel Moon i did not watch cause it was still too dark... I regret buying the samsung TV.... I should have stuck with LG.
