It's important to regain full knee motion after meniscus surgery. Many people don't have any trouble with this and even have normal motion the day after surgery.

But many do experience stiffness and a loss of the ability to bend and straighten the knee.

It's not a good idea to force motion to happen. Instead, gradually stretch in a way that doesn't hurt the knee.

My surgeon suggests no active knee flexion for the first 6 weeks but wants me to be able to get to full ROM by week 5 & is telling me to push it. Is it safe to push flexion also extension within the first 6-8 weeks post surgery?
