It's amazing what pouring injector cleaner into the gas tank periodically does. One shop wanted to clean out my injectors and charge me One can of fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank cured my problem in a few miles. That was about 40 years ago and I have never had a fuel injector problem again.

I approve of this method. The only way to clean a injector is chemical because if you try to clean it by hand the minute the wire or whatever you use touches the precision drilled hole the injectors are ruined. They are made as so to spray the triangle pattern on a microscopic level.

55 year old mechanic. Never have I had to clean an injector. Fuel has cleaner in it. Yes carbon can block the spray outlet at times. If I'm taking the injector out because I think it's having a problem, it's getting replaced

I was seeking out options on that, and that is, by far the best one i've seen.
Lo and behold, I did have a multiple bad injectors, so I just did the whole bunch..

I did that too my truck and a mechanic told me that I shouldn’t have done that. By doing that I messed up the injectors. I said shit they were fucked up before I did this and now they working better 😂😂😂jokes on you mechanic 😂😂😂

As others are saying, holding the injector coil on that long may overheat it. Not sure. Just know what college taught me. Also, injectors do not JUST get dirty. It is not going to keep you from never buying another injector. I have worked on cars 40 years professionally. All the injectors i replaced either were mechanically broken or the resistance was incorrect (electrical failure). 1980s and 90s GM injectors failed on resistance many times. One Corsica i diagnosed had 4 bad at one time. And one Vette i know fails one every 10 years, so far. Good is usually 14 ohms.

Those injectors are only meant to open momentarily/ rapidly. Energizing it for that long well damage them. Also the flamethrower comment is spot on
