Brett, This is deeply sad on so many fronts. Sad that your local town will no longer hear the clear voice of truth. Sad that a small group within your church has not responded to the truth which you have lovingly 
preached over them. Sad for the CafE who will lose a sound and bold minister. Sad for your family who must leave the security of a paid ministerial job with all its benefits. As you boldly step out to live by faith, I pray that the Lord will cover you and will provide bread for your table and bread for your soul. May the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of th eHoly Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Well said...feel exactly the same...the C of E is finished amongst the true believers...mission accomplished i guess for the C of E was a well known Pagan for 40 years before I found Christ...even I am shocked with what I'm seeing in the C of E Church....and I recently resigned from the Freemasons...the gift of discernment is a beautiful one..ask for it...God Bless

oh Bret, I'm so proud of you and I've been praying for you on this matter for the past couple of months. When we first 'spoke', I explained that I was following your sermons whilst I was settling in to my new church - the Free Church of Scotland after leaving my lifelong church, the CofS. Well, you saw me through my transition period and the settling in period with new fellowship. In short, you gave me strength and held my shaking hand! You said it all when you said, "we know we can trust an unknown future to a known God". No truer words have been spoken, Bret. I'll continue to follow you and praying for both yourself and Cat. Stay strong, my friend, and know that your new path into new beginnings is the path that you'll continue walking along with Christ by your side. He, like you will be doing some serious 'hand holding' as you settle and find your feet. God bless you. I did the same here in Australia back in 1992. I went to.secular employment, became Orthodox and was re ordained. It hasn't been easy, but it was necessary. Those of us who have been cast out by the "church" are precious in God's sight. Every blessing in your new ministry.
