There’s one thing about Eddie that will always be true. He is GOING to make you feel every single word. Whether you want to or not.

I wonder if those in the audience had any idea they were watching a piece of music history?

“I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life, I know you’ll be the sun in somebody else’s sky. But, why, why, why can’t it be mine?” is some flippin poetry right there.

Ken: "... Eddie had a terrible chest cold or something?"

The Grunge bands of that time all put their heart and soul in their music. You can hear it from Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and Sound Garden too.

When he flips out at Eddie's falsetto twist, I feel it every time.

7:25 when a Vocal Coach suddenly forgets about all the technique and is blown away by the emotions.... for me this is just one of the most emotional live performances of all time

Eddie is an incredible vessel for emotion. He uses his entire body to project his thoughts and emotions. Watch again and watch his hands, eyes, and mouth. He is a very quiet and shy person, soft spoken but the moment he gets on stage he releases it all. Pinkpop 92' Porch is a great video to express this.

Where did he go when he sang that song, YouTube reactor, Jamal AKA Jamal said it best. "He went to the place where those lyrics were created."

I took the night off work the night it was first aired on MTV and had a party I had a TV in the kitchen living room and another room so three total was watching and hanging out and when porch came on, Eddie Vedder fell off his stool All three rooms got quiet, And just watched the rest of that song and I told everyone there that I’ll go down in history is one of the greatest unplugged performance ever but no most people when they’re young and partying. Don’t realize it’s gonna be part of history.

This song is, simply, about a girl that he loved when he was younger. I’ve heard this recording many times, and I’ve found it fascinating that he essentially cries for exactly one note at the climax. He must’ve really been feeling it this performance because he added a lot. The “we belong together” isn’t in the song, but it’s heavily implied in my opinion. This song is one of the saddest I’ve ever heard. The others would be Disturbed’s Cover of The Sound Of Silence, Wings For Marie/10, 000 Days by Tool, and Daddy by Korn. I recommend all of these except Daddy, because the weight of that is mostly in the lyrics and not the performance. Great review!

“This is so... emotionally wrong.”

This song takes you to a place where you can’t go, anymore. Every single time.

You should see the version he did after Chris Cornell died, where he breaks down in tears... it's rough.

It just doesn’t get Eddie Vedder than this. I really love the unplugged version of Porch as well.
