Use a 90hz phone for a day. Then Check again. That's when you feel a difference. Give some time to your eyes to adapt 90hz once it's done you will see a difference between 90hz and 60hz

EDIT: FOR EVERYONE WHO SAYS THAT THEY DON'T SEE A DIFFERENCE, TRY WITH 120, 144HZ PHONES, IF YOU CAN. 60 vs 90 is not a magic change, it's subtle.

Used the 90hz for one day and 60hz for one day. I could easily tell the difference.. In Battery Life xD

I have a OnePlus 7 pro and when I pick up any other 60 hz phone, it feels sluggish and slow

I was using iphone 8 plus before using one plus 7T. After two months, when i came back to iphone 8 plus to fetch something from the iphone, you can REALLY tell the difference. I am not even a phone geek to realise that. I bought my 7T without knowing about 90hz screen refresh at first. Bought it just for fast charging.

Thanks for making us 60 hz phone owners feel less out of touch...a little bit longer

*I switched from OnePlus 7 Pro to iPhone 11 Pro Max and I miss the 90hz refresh rate display.*

This is how I felt when the smart phone industry went from FHD resolution, to QHD or 4K. I really don't see a need for it on such a small screen. I have my Note 9 set to FHD+ (2220 x 1080) and the screen looks fantastic!

I'm not sure about this result. I bought a Oneplus 7t a couple of weeks back and changing to 90hz, I could instantly notice the smoothness.

What do you think about the smoothness of the display

Grandma: this phone is lighter

As long as you're not doing something that takes advantage of the high refresh rate it is hard to notice a difference. Basically it's like content creators going for a more colour accurate and higher resolution screen and gamers going for a higher refresh rate screen.

You miss the point of a 90hz display, I guess. Microsoft has demonstrated years ago that touch latency is a big factor in usability and the natural feel of a touch screen. You need something less than 10ms for it feel like paint coming off your fingers as you touch the display. But a 60hz display, refreshes 60 times a second. That's once every 16.67ms. So, no matter how fast you make the touch input, your display won't be able to show anything less than 16.67ms, even though the touchscreen registers it. A 90 hz display refreshes every 11.1ms, so that's closer to the mark. So, you would feel an obvious difference primarily in fast swipes and drawing, not daily use.

It's good that there isn't 90Hz everywhere like when you're calling someone for example. There's no need for 90Hz to be enabled during that obviously. I also don't need 90Hz to play games. When I'm surfing the web or watching a video, maybe, I'd like to see that high refresh rate.

Calling this a psychology experiment you introduced bias in that the participants were on guard to see if there was actually something different between the phones or not. You prob could've skewed your data either way. You would have been better off asking them if one phone screen was faster than the other. People won't necessarily understand "speed" meaning hz in this scenario. Then have a control group with 2 phones at the same refresh rate. This is in no way conclusive to if the general public can decipher a difference.you don't want to know can people identify a difference. You want to know can people tell the difference between 60hz and 90hz

I've been using the OnePlus 7 pro at 90 Hz and I do see a difference. My old phone was the OnePlus 5T and I had them side by side both on 1080p and similar brightness. And I also noticed since I've been using the 7 pro for a while now

Bad execution of the experiment, pains me when they start guessing about UI and app opening speeds

Well there is a phone in the market with 240 Hz display. I think it's from SHARP Mobiles.

I have iPad Pro 12.9 with 120hz display and S10+ but I both feel smooth. I don’t play games but in normal usage, I can’t tell!
