Little known fact: Workshops have a "fast travel mat" (placeable spawn point) pop the mat down infront of the generator and boom, there you are. Very handy for defending your workshops. Place the mat in an advantageous spot and melt your enemies.

Electrical absorption was my first legendary perk and for PA users its a must IMO. Fighting a bunch of bot you become almost invincible. If my health ran low I would go stand in front of the Assaultrons beam to recharge.

You also get ammo when crafting weapons, so if you craft a Gatling laser you get a free core. (Super Duper works when crafting weapons too.) Saves using flux. Craft the lowest level weapon (25?) to use fewer resources.

This is helpful for anyone who can't afford the Pitt bundle thing, but if its affordable then it's the better option in the long run. It's a lot more efficient for overall gameplay and experience.

Thanks. As I played for most of my playtime on builds without power armor and now with a mixed build still live off the hundreds of fusion cores that I got from digging out treasure maps, I never bothered with the power plants. So I didn't knew that you don't need to repair the power plant and just can power up the fusion processors yourself.

I tried finding the core generator at poseidon, last night. Searched for an hour and there was nothing. The only one i could find was at Monagah. Great video, btw! Perfectly timed. I was on my last fusion core when this popped up.

Dude, TY for pronouncing Monongah correctly lol. i'm from Charleston, and to hear it (and other places) pronounced incorrectly makes me grimace. Most of these areas are Native American named.. Monongah, Kanawha.. for instance. Great vid, tx for the update on this as things have changes so much in FO76, and i know i always look for the most recent interpretations of info :)

***Update for 2024*** Now you can take a weapon that uses Fusion cores and Run the Atlantic city Expeditions at the end of each you will get 4-5 Fusion Cores per run my runs are 8 minutes a piece so I can get 30+ cores an hour plus Ammo, Plus a lot of XP, 6-7 legendries and Plans so this way was great before the Expo's and the Fusion Core Recharger station in the Atoms shop.

Thanks for the informative videos, Mr WestTek. One of the things that I wish Fallout 76 was, was cross platform, but i can understand that not everyone wants to play with PC

Plus you can put other items in Power Plant to collect. I usually put Coffee maker, Bee hive, a Nuka cola collector, A well that collect weird items. Tick blood and such. Plus you can put all those items in a tight spot to protect.

i often claim a workshop, in order so that other players can profit over some of the resources. It feels nice in a way to share the loot.

Also pro tip for strength stat full charge at level 2 seems to be broken ive been using my power armor for about an hour now and its still at 100% fusion core charge 👍

Also if you craft them, with the ammo crafting perk plus the legendary perk maxed out you create 4 fusion cores per 1 flux of each. So comes out to be a little more worth it by crafting, again using the regular ammosmith perk plus legendary effects even crafting cores from the Chen station. Don’t waste ya flux lol

Angry Turtle had a video on this, quite a while ago, too. I think his method had an advantage, because he would surround the generators/processors with concrete walls, and put a fast travel mat next to them, inside the barriers, so you can enter sneak, and fast travel right next to the processor and not trigger enemies spawning.

Another handy tip:
I like to craft a ton of Gatling Lasers with the supa dupa perk card on and then scrap 'em for a bunch of Fusion Cores...

Just Craft Gatling Laser, Scrap, Repeat! Simple! 👍

you can get plans for the generator by doing the firing up the power plant quest

You can actually use a power conduit from the substation onto the fusion core processor without having to craft the fusion generator
