Joshua Bell was supposed to play in this concert, but he couldn't because of the virus, and Sergey happily accepted the offer, and this happened. Just wow. So much respect to everybody, especially Mr Khachatryan

I think we're forgetting here that Mr. Khachatryan is the 2005 1st prize violin winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition :)

I just heard Khachatryan two days ago at our local auditorium here in Bilbao, playing the Kachaturian violin concerto. He is just amazing, he will make himself a name in violin history

Thank you for the live performance, without the coughing audiences :).

I wish to listen to him play in real life. I can't stop crying while listening to him. It's beyond expressions and techniques. He is telling his own story on the stage to the whole world.

Outstanding performance as usual. I remember the concert he gave with Tugan Sokhiev and l’orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse in the same concerto with the same level of mastery. A fantastic violinist and very rare artist indeed!

Throughout the whole performance I can't stop saying "How in the world" or "Are you kidding me?" because how can it sound extremely beautiful? I've always liked Perlman's version but Khachataryan's is so powerful and passionate it gives me goose bumps

20:23 | This is the hardest, most superb, and brilliant I have ever seen to an introduction of a cadenza. The way Sergey drops the bow on the violin and the spacing in between the octaves symbolizing the theme of the first movement. The Joachim cadenza is just the best when it comes to this violin concerto with Kreisler not too far behind. There are so many words I want to express about my enthusiasm in this cadenza but it has blessed me so much and it is such a pleasure listening to this recording. So much emotion and life and it doesn’t feel rushed at all. It is such a thrill.

I am just an ordinary viola player, but I think I can assure you that mr S. Khachatryan is one of the best young soloists of our era. Not only for his accuracy of the reading of the score (especially of the 2nd & 3rd parts), but also for his style and philosophy, towards this music:feeling it with the most profound & genuine manner. No doubt, he will be part of the great armenian  legacy of great artists.

Fantastic performance. Am I the only one who notices that Orozco-Estrada and Khachatryan look a lot like each other :)

The build up at 12:30 and then the absolute power he plays 13:22 with is impressive.

I have heard this conceto 100+ times and this is clearly near or at the top. What I absolutely love is the few minutes after the cadenza which in most cases is performed just too fast. Here with the slow dreamy pace we get to appreciate in my opinion the intense beauty of the melody. Bravisimo!

I can't get enough of Sergey Khachatryan's fabulous intensity. He puts everything into each performance. And I note he plays so much of each of the pieces with his eyes closed. That being said, I find he plays like an Armenian (I think that's where he's from) which is a kinda cute touch. The slightly slurred notes and his general technique. But oh! The man's a genius of the 21st century, is he not?
