Hello. You can change the boot order right in the uefi bios without going to legacy boot. That being said, I forgot how to get to the uefi so this was a helpful video for me.

Mr. please help, I have a HP Laptop 14 dq-200, I did exactly what you explain nice and clear. Don't work for me I tried switching slots with a brand new prepared bootable usb, no luck.
Temporary boot menu shows OS Boot Manager and Boot From EFI File, wondering what else to tried, probably there are other pc issues.

Thanks.. this worked for me.. I had win 11 installed (upgraded from win10) and it causing too much lag.
Enabling legacy bought up the USB drive.

Hey bro 👋. Cleared many things up for me so big A+ for that. I want to boot from a live Linux distro I have on a 128gb SD but so far it doesn't want to play ball.
The laptop has decent low end hardware but in my opinion is not anywhere near enough to handle Windows 10 on a 32gb emmc storage device. I know there's data management tricks but I feel a puppy linux distro would perform much better and I can obviously partition my disk and use a swap partition for better ram performance but currently I cannot boot from my storage.
I would also like to use the mighty Gparted to take control over the existing windows OS as I'm only logged in as a guest with restricted permissions as I was given this machine.
Have you any advice how I can take full control over the existing OS? I've tried cmd as administrator but still hit a brick wall as it asks for more disk space to complete the reset.

Thanks, for me after the steps, it would still not show USB, what helped for me was restoring bios to all defaults and then disable legacy, then rebooted with f9 and there was the usb option!
