I hope people pay close attention to the thorough and contextual exposition James White provided us with, on this simple scripture! James White's excellent talk, is in line with what the most knowledgeable scholars, who are highly experienced with the original ancient Biblical languages, have been saying all along! Watch out for cultic organizations, that try to distort John1:1, in an attempt to conform it to their false doctrines, or to try to lower God to a level that we limited human beings can fully comprehend!

Thank you for clarifying the point about the I Am statements in John and how they relate back to the Greek Septuagint/Exodus 3:14 and hence how the early church would have understood this when reading John. This is something that I've been meaning to look up for some time now but I never got around to it.

We just started going to a church we thought was a great church with a decent youth presence and a great Sunday school for the whole family, even though it was an hour away. It was worth it. And then as of last week I heard in the teaching the concept that Jesus is not God. I asked a couple questions and was able to flush out an admittance. So disappointing!

I was having a conversation with a Mormon here on YouTube. He stop talking when I wasn't going to just answer all his various question. We were discussing John 1, and he didn't like when I keep going back to that. The Mormons need to really understand the Triune God, and once they understand their whole teaching of Joseph Smith fall apart.

John 1:2 does not say "this one" it simply states the demonstrative pronoun "this". And I'm not a Mormon or JW; just looking at the word "houtos". His bookends are weak and nebulous at best.

And while I do not, technically believe in Calvanism (more Arminianism for me, NOT a salvation issue) James White, I have found, researched etc THE foremost authority on these TRUTHS. Yes, there are many many other wonderful apologists, biblical Antiquity experts, theologians, many of which I watch with regularity, but doctor White's analysis, breakdown, depth and origin, are just second to none. Just refreshing and amazing gift granted and hopefully will bring more followers to the truth of Christ

Read the Hebrew version of Genesis. Eloheim is used in the creation story when it says let us make man in our image. In Hebrew “heim” is plural and this clearly suggests that the Father and the Son are two separate, distinct beings
