Anyway, Monsters in the Bible are usually symbolic and pointing to another culture in the area's belief system. More on that as we continue with Leviathan...

Religion is built by oral telling and interpretation of experiences, evaluations and - yes- superstions before these are written down. Religion organises societies so that the powerful invent more and more rules to keep those without power occupied in fear and rituals. There is no such thing as "behemoth", "beelzebub", ...
And the devil - well, that's US! Everyone of us, if we don't take care of our thoughts and actions. And sadly hyper"religious" people often are very prone to act ... ungodly?

I've always believed behemoth was describing an elephant. Mostly because of the tail description.
