I’ve had this problems for yrs due to ankle injury. I tried this and will keep doing it for a couple wks and get back. On another issue it’s actually helped to also relieve the sciatic nerve and piriformas pain. You might be onto something 😊😂

Yet another mobility problem we have in common. Thanks for the video Ryan! :)

it's a tendon that's not flexible. The sound is the tendon rolling over you bone. Not sure which hip tendon it is though I can't see from the video. Probably an IT band or TFL thing. Hard muscles to stretch.

Exactly the same issue, bloody annoying! I get the click in the same motion and at the same time. Really appreciate this. God bless

Try this: attain the sensation of having your hip "properly" aligned into your pelvis. You will know it is properly aligned when you are able to move it in the same motion as you did when there was clicking, but this time you do not feel it and you can FEEL it is properly aligned. This will most likely be when your mind is focused on activating/flexing AT the hip rather than thinking about moving your outer extremity (in this case your foot). You can squat and feel it in 2 completely different areas depending on where you put your mind.

Put simply: squeeze your glute and all surrounding areas ONLY, such as lower back, front abs above the hips, hip flexors, etc. do a squat and squeeze those muscles hard while letting the rest of your leg like your knee, calf, and foot move in effect of the hip flexion and not the other way around.

put even MORE simply: focus on your core. Long comment yes. But i am slowly understanding the true importance of core strength in powerlifting. This is a general definition of what i believe it to be. Hope this helps!

This is exactly the same issue I have with my left leg, and has significantly worsened post back injury. If I keep my hips turned in, it doesn't pop, but the moment I deviate off center by a little, I get a snap.

My hip clicks as well, but my right hip. I think it's caused by having less ankle mobility on my left side. When I squat I have the same problem as you. My body tends to twist towards my right side at the bottom to compensate for my left ankles lack of mobility. I think the load this puts on my right side is causing the problems. Just saw your channel then. Awesome!

I was diagnosed with this yesterday and I'm 11 it hurts when I walk and when I swing my leg around. I'm glad I'm getting help as its so painful and because I'm 11 I can't do all the active stuff I want to do without being in pain 😢😢

My right hip is clicking like that. Sometimes it clicks louder and then the small clicking stops. I'm never sure if that's a bad sign or good sign.

I've been doing research on lower back and hip pain and it could be your psoas muscle. check it out.

I have the same thing...the "snap" is identical to your's. Since I don't really have the money for an OT, these stretches will be invaluable.

Yes. My hip does the same. If I do a lying down leg raise my right hip will bump or pop. It has put me out in basketball now because sometimes lay ups or just defense will make my leg to were I can pick it up until I pop it back.

You should follow Functional Patterns, I had that exact same thing, IMO he is much better than Kelly Starrett, buy his video on correcting imbalances at the hip and you will FEEL the difference big time, by the way, I don't know the guy personally and am not trying to sell his product, It's just a suggestion!

my groin makes snapping noises randomly, and it has strarted to happen more frequently. It tends to happen when I am not exercising.

Watching this because I've always had snapping hip syndrome on both joints. However, it's only been the last year that I get zapping pains in both from general exercise. Im interested to see if a physiotherapist will give similar exercises as you have recommended
