In this video, Dr. Berg answers the question, do you need to be 100% organic.

Organic means without pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and free of GMOs.

What are the dangers?
It will put you at risk of diseases. These chemicals alter your chemistry, your genes, your DNA - this is called a mutation. These chemicals are called toxins or poisons.

Cruciferous vegetables help turn poisons into harmless chemicals, and this is called Phase I and Phase II Detoxification.

Cruciferous Vegetables like:
• Kale
• Radish
• Broccoli
• Arugula
• Bok Choy
• Cabbage
• Brussels sprouts

It's really a matter of how much cruciferous vegetables are you consuming versus how much non-organic food with toxins are you being exposed to.

If you are doing intermittent fasting, you can then save money, which you can then re-invest in more quality foods - Organic. This is real health insurance.

organic is how food supposed to be in nature without tempering from the outside, but they cost more. so the takeaway here is you're paying more to eat normal.

I switch to organic a year ago. It’s still hard to find everything organic like pineapple, papaya etc.. I’ve haven’t seen any yet! I came to the U.S 9yrs ago and I’ve never feel worst! I’m constantly bloated. I became lactose intolerant, certain foods hurt my stomach, not to mention periodically headaches. Only God can help us with whatever they’re putting in these foods! I also started growing my own veggies now!

Some times stores lie about selling organic and we pay for it. That hurts to pay so much and really don't know if its organic or not.

Organic food as health insurance. I love that statement! I don't eat near as much or buy as much food as I used to because I'm not lured by all the ads and pretty packages that will eventually make me sick. I have family members with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and junk food is the main culprit! Thank You again for all you teach and hope you have a very "Happy New Year!" Keep'um coming Doc!

It’s just easier to grow your own. Even if u don’t have a yard, u can grow broccoli sprouts & microgreens indoors & outdoors. Dr. Berg & his wife have shown gr8 food recipes to prepare, they should also show gardening to produce one’s own healthy produce. The sad fact is if each of us ate 7 cups of leafy greens a day, all of our grocery stores & farms will be in shortage 😔

Hi Dr Berg. I am trying to figure out if fertilizers are harmful? Are they gmos? Like, is there such thing as something being organic and at the same time being grown with fertilizers or do fertilizers automatically make something have gmos?? I hope you understand my question.

yeah, sure going 100% organic is the best choice I can truly say. going more organic I feel easier & lighter, less stress, less inflammation less bloating, and less tension in my body. thing is I must go organic as I possibly can to feel less stress after I'm done eating. so I can agree about going organic it really works.

I would like you to address grass fed vs grass finished. Is there a difference? Is it enough to buy meats that are listed as hormone and antibiotic free?

So happy that I discovered you midway thru 2017. I’ve been intermittent fasting ketogenically and am looking forward to 2018 as my best year ever. Karen thank you for all of the delicious recipes 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I don’t require any assistance to avoid breads and sweets but I am constantly working on bringing my family around to eating the way that humans are designed to eat, and so sometimes I have to lure them away from the particularly addictive conventional food-like junk. I tried, but cannot afford all organic. Prices are insane. Also, how do you know 100% if something is organic? You really never know for sure.
