I operated an auto repair shop for 40 years, One guy came in with a transmission problem and we went through the procedure of contact the warranty company and I believe the estimate was about $1, 500 at the time, so they said that the car was only worth $895 which wasn't really accurate and they would only pay up to the amount the car was worth. They charged the guy $1, 200 for the warranty that they would only pay $895 maximum out on. I told him to file a complaint with the State insurance commission.

I see all of these comments, and no-one cares!
So here I go... THANK YOU for taking the time to publish this video! You have spent time to produce the camera work, and to edit the production, unless you are a You Tube influencer, it takes time.

Last fall i bought a used Subaru. I registered it where I live in Western Pennsylvania. To this day i still get calls, text messages, emails and mail dria number of these companies. Dod some research and found out the Pennsylvania DMV actually sells my information to these warranty companies ! Crazy and just pisses me off !

The BBB gives Car Shield an A rating, yet it lists many, many customer complaints. This tells me the BBB letter grade is worthless.

Carshield is definitely one I would steer clear of. They literally wanted my AAA mechanic to take my engine apart so they could see the heads and lifter damage. AAA mechanic told them not only can you hear it and see the smoke coming from the exhaust, the compression test they did confirmed it. The AAA mechanic asked them will they pay for taking the engine apart. Carshield responded "only if our rep says it was not negligence by the Owners" The AAA mechanic told me they are not going to take a chance with this warranty company so I had to pay $6500 for another engine for my 2015 Cadillac Escalade. Watch out for carshield please!

I glad Car Shield got sued for 10 million dollars...now its time for Car Shield to return all the money to the consumers

I bought a SmartAuto Care (part of Endurance I think) Warranty with my truck when I bought it. It extended the bumper to bumper warranty out on my truck to 6 years 100k miles. I renewed it when it expired and extended it to 10 years 180k miles. They paid out way way more than it cost me. I think both times it was $2500 but they paid out well over $25k over the life of the 2 contracts. My truck is a 2500 Dodge Ram Diesel so all repairs are expensive. They always paid for everything covered in contract. Never had any big problems with them and they never tried to get out of something they were supposed to cover. They treated me well. The only annoyance was that on expensive repairs they'd want someone to come inspect vehicle before approving it which took a couple days typically. And towards the end of the contract (post covid after repair costs really skyrocketed, they started wanting to supply the parts themselves and mail to the shop because the could source them cheaper than the shop (cause they had bulk purchase contracts) which made the repairs take way longer. And they would only cover rentals for while car was actively being repaired not while it was waiting for an inspector or parts which I always felt was unfair cause that wait time was being caused by the warranty company.

If you must buy, try to find an exclusionary warranty. One that lists what is NOT covered.

I prefer the self insure path, banking the premium montly.

I have an unintended son in law who just spent $11, 000 on an extended warranty. All I could do is say ahh well okay then, he is the type that knows everything and isn’t afraid to tell you so.

Been around for a while and worked in for 3 dealerships back in the day/correct me if I am wrong - I doubt if there is a dealership that does not commit fraud several time a day between their sales, service desk and their repair shops. Woops, forgot that I have known many mechanics who agree with me. Just mt experiences

My Chevy dealer sold me a warranty with ASC on a 2022 Chevy 2500 with 6.6 gas and 70k miles.
I spent about $2500. 2 oil changes and 9000 miles later and I had a $7500 lifter and camshaft replacement. They covered it with no issues. I was very impressed.

Thank you for your channel. My sad story is about the exclusions. A chevy 305 motor with aluminum heads. Yes your correct, head gaskets, so while driving down the road, check engine light comes on. Pull over ASAP, car gets towed to a repair shop. Clause K (O from Car Shield), reads if any damage caused by lack or contaminated lubricating oil, claim is denied. Well as we know, head blown gasket means ani-freeze in the oil. Spun a few bearings, engine knocking and so on. A known 305 cast iron block, head gasket issue. Claim denied.

I bought a used Harley Davidson bike, one year out of warranty, from a dealership. The financial officer offered me a 3 year extended warranty for $5k. I said I’d take it for $2500, and after bartering back and forth I got for my price. Within the first two weeks, I had the bike in for misc. issues and ABS issues. Total cost was $2700. So I came out $200 ahead. I was hesitant to get it but I was glad I did. Never take the first price offered for a warranty from a dealer, they always have wiggle room to adjust the price.

I've seen Endurance ranked #1 in a couple warranty-review sites. I always figure those review sites rank things according to the size of their affiliate commission so it's good to hear from an actual shop that they're one of the better ones.

Best warranty has to be the (no longer available) Mopar Lifetime Maximum Care vehicle protection plan. In 2014 I purchased a new 2014 Chrysler Town & Country along with the service plan. $3000 at the time of purchase. Currently the T&C has 170, 000 miles and has had $23, 000 in warranty covered repairs.
The 3.6 Pentastar engine has accounted for a significant percentage of those repairs.

Thank you for your honesty. Also, these car warranties sound 4:40 almost as bad as Medicare Advantage Plans. They deny & delay not to pay.

Heading up to your establishment from Saint George. I have a 24 CRV hybrid and my Honda dealership, Stephen Wade won’t do an oil change because I haven’t traveled 10, 000 miles yet. It’s at around 4000 miles and I want an oil change before I go on a long road trip. And I don’t trust dealerships anymore for maintenance. I trust you because of your great YouTube channel👍👍

About 5 years ago, bought a CPO used car. Pretty much got the push on the add ons....sealant and warranty etc. I pushed back on them...."don't you want to save time and not have to wax your car?" I responded, I'm happy to do it myself...I find it relaxing to detail my cars. With the extended warranty, he started to pit my wife against me....about the security and expense of modern electronics. I pushed back...suddenly, I found he was willing to negotiate on price. So we got the warranty. I've used it once...to replace a door mirror switch which was covered with no hassle. But based on that..they are still making a profit even after paying that signal repair. The service writer will caution by saying, we have to get the approval I remind him how the dealer touting the advantages of the warranty when we bought the car.
