I really do like the page up/down keys on the right of the keyboard. As you can use them to quickly scroll through websites and pages instead of having to drag the slider with the touchpad, or scroll slowly via the arrow keys.

Setting up Windows 7 on my other machine. Much better than modern Windows. Can have some nice older games on it and just a nice throwback.

i still use to this day (on a old pc) and it's very good, but sadly some games/apps are not updating anymore on win7 (like chrome, steam, etc) :( that sucks tho

I left 7 for Linux unfortunately on my daily driver but i keep 7 on some older hardware i use i refuse to be stuck on 10 or 11

I recently bought a newer computer that can run Windows 11 as I figure the prices on them will go up when Windows 10 reaches end of life. Really hope Microsoft allows all of those computers to run 12 when that comes out.

I only moved to 10 in 2022. I was forced to in order to use software that I had to have. I'm making 10 last until I'm forced to move due to software not working on 10 anymore- think I've got a long while before that happens. I miss 7, I still like it more than 10 overall.

You don't need a Microsoft account for 10- I don't have one. It does make you think you need to have one though. Been a while since I installed it so I don't remember exactly how.

I am using Windows 7 in October 2024, many people including my friends are getting crazy that it is not supported but I don't care, I really think that we have the choice as human to do whatever we wants to hurting other people, so respect our choice or don't care use please.

I'm pretty sure this model has TPM 1.2, I'm not 100% sure if it has secure boot, it should, I know the 2nd gen core laptops like this don't. Great poor man's Windows 11 computer, just use the workaround I'm pretty sure this one has a TPM in it. It's always a bonus as well that this machine is 100% compatible with XP, and also vista, 7, 8, 10 32 and 64 bit.

Instead of using Windows 7, a lot of your points about having an OS that is "yours" can be accomplished with a modern Linux distro like Ubuntu or Mint. It's totally free and will have much better software support for modern programs, it totally breathes new life into older systems like yours.

With an Intel i7 CPU, it's possible that you could run 16GB Ram total.

EU has gone for microsoft. They have to release a European version (at least that is what they will be doing) that will have less spam and give back some control to the user like on windows 7. I don't know how that will play out, but I am sick of bloat and spyware slowing down everything
