If you ask an eastern orthodox christian this question they will say the orthodox church was founded by Jesus. I think they have the stronger case, and I am speaking as someone who is part of a protestant church at the moment.

im a baptist, this is very eye opening to me and is something my church never talks about. i am blessed to have been in the vatican and i feel ashamed i havent researched the original branches of christianity more.

In 1546, the Council of Trent condemned the Gospel and elevated the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, saying that it was authoritative alongside Scripture. ...which is contrary to the Word of Christ.

Also, Luther and his followers were kicked out of the RCC for preaching the Gospel.

Born again believers are the body of the church! That’s why we can pray anywhere! It’s not religion, it’s relationship, remove the rituals in Catholicism and maybe too you’ll be more focused on cultivating a real Relationship
