Thank you so much. Both of my wife's keys were failing for her Pilot. I bought the one from the link you provided and it was fixed in about a two minute. Appreciate you!!!!

this is great, but mine has the immobilizer chip, so it won't work.

I didn’t think you could take the key out the old key fob but you have shown me that you can

Good video. My key part appears to be glued into the old fob. How can I get it out? 2009 accord.

I notice you didn't have the immobilizers is that normal ? I have a 2011 honda accord, my key fob broke off and i opened it but i dont think i had one when i opened it i fear i dropped it but i dont think so .

My 2002 accord had an immobilizer chip that I also had to transfer to the new case. Took a little adjusting, but it works like the original.

I've got the chip in mine. I ended up using drimmel and cutting out my chip from old key fob and fitting into amazon shell. Not perfect but new screw and shell keeps everything in place. It works good enough.

How come the screw on the car key cannot unscrew from it.

I don’t see the link to the kit, but I’ll look. My problem is that I can’t get the screw loose. Feels like it was super glued in place. The key broke out of the fob, but I can’t do much with that dang screw stuck in place. At least I have a plan if I can free it. Thanks.

Others have mentioned an immobilizer chip. I don't know what year vehicle the key in the video is, but it is different inside the clamshell than the keys for my '05 CR-V and my '06 Accord. The keys for those two cars have another small part that must be transferred to the new clamshell to be able to start the vehicle. If you open up the key you have you'll be able to see whether or not yours looks like the one in the video, or if it has the other little part that is about twice as big a a grain of rice. If your key has that immobilizer chip, just be sure to order a replacement clamshell that has the space for it and transfer it to the new clamshell along with the key blade and the electronics module with the buttons plus the battery inside. The procedure is otherwise the same.

I did this same thing last year and it didn't work. I had to go to my mechanic to let him put the chip in the new case. Thanks for the video

fob fits perfectly but car wont start, notice there is an extra piece on the replacement covering the key, the original key fob is even, leaving the key longer.

i have done this but the replacements ones just break too *up to 3 of them) - it is a bad design - where the thin plastic around the screw can't handle the twist force.

Oh wow if I knew this is all I had to do, I would’ve been did this 😭 I’ve had the shell for like 5 months and was going to take it to someone and I didn’t even need to

You have to carefully pry out the little immobilizer chip on the inside side..take some pliers…and peel it out…Otherwise it wont work!
